Maths

 

 

This presentation will give an overview of dyscalculia and describe how other SpLDs impact upon mathematical skills.  Ideas for practical support strategies for the four basic mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division will be included.

 

 

 

Beverley Williams is Head of Training at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre.  Her roles include managing professional training courses, tutoring on the OCR teacher training courses, presenting in-service sessions in schools and colleges and carrying out specialist tuition and assessments.

 Beverley has supported learners with specific learning difficulties at primary, secondary and adult level and has worked for the Helen Arkell Centre since 1998.   She has recently had some involvement in a project in conjunction with Xtraordinary People, assessing young dyslexics in an Inner London School.
